Stream every tool into one Postgres table or BigQuery
Events from your sources land in one table for reports and dashboards.
- Time:
- 10 minutes
- Plan:
- Free. Free covers one source. A Pro project adds more sources (up to 10).
- Status:
- Beta
- Code:
- None
Beta: tested against sample payloads, not yet verified on a live account.
your sources → * → postgres: insert event
The problem
Payments, invoices, orders and tickets live in different tools. A report that joins them needs a data engineer.
What you get
- One activity table with the same columns for every event.
- Shared event types, so a payment looks the same no matter which tool sent it.
- Point Metabase, Looker Studio or Power BI at it.
Steps
- 1
Connect PostgreSQL
Open your workspace and go to Connections. Find PostgreSQL and click Connect. Enter a connection URL for a user that can insert into one table. Hooksnode keeps the keys and tokens encrypted. Members can see that the connection exists, but not its secrets.
- 2
Add the recipe
Go to Destinations, click Use a recipe and pick "One activity stream". It takes every event type (*) from the sources on the project. A Free project has one source. A Pro project adds more sources (up to 10). Click Add recipe.
- 3
Or use BigQuery
Connect Google BigQuery with your Google account. Click Run a tool action, pick BigQuery and Insert a row, and leave the event types empty to take every event.
Tips
- Hooksnode only dials public database addresses. Private and metadata addresses are refused.
- Each row keeps the raw tool payload, so you can still read tool-specific fields.
