odoo / sap b1 → inventory.stock.low → slack

The problem

You learn that an item is out of stock when a customer order fails.

What you get

  • A Slack message when an item reaches its threshold.
  • inventory.stock.changed events for reports and dashboards.

Steps

  1. 1

Connect Odoo or SAP Business One

Open your workspace and go to Connections. Find Odoo or SAP Business One and click Connect. For Odoo, enter your URL, database, user and API key. For SAP Business One, enter the Service Layer URL, company database, user and password. Hooksnode keeps the keys and tokens encrypted. Members can see that the connection exists, but not its secrets.

  2. 2

Add the ERP as a source

In your project, go to Sources, click Add source, pick A business tool and choose your ERP. Set the low stock level. Odoo pushes events through an automation webhook. That is one source, so it fits a Free project. SAP Business One is read on a schedule. Polled sources need a Pro project.

  3. 3

    Connect Slack

Open your workspace and go to Connections. Find Slack and click Connect. Paste an incoming webhook URL. Hooksnode keeps the keys and tokens encrypted. Members can see that the connection exists, but not its secrets.

  4. 4

    Add the recipe

Go to Destinations, click Use a recipe and pick "Low stock alerts". Click Add recipe.

Tips

  • If your SAP Business One server is not on the internet, use the edge agent.
  • Send the same events to a Postgres table to chart stock over time.
