The problem
An agent can only act when it knows that something happened. Each tool sends events in its own format, or not at all.
What you get
- One CloudEvents format for every tool.
- Shared types such as payment.received and support.ticket.opened.
- Retries when the agent is busy, and a log of each attempt.
Steps
- 1
Add your sources
Add one tool as a source. A Free project has one source and no mail sources. Inboxes need a Pro project. A Pro project also adds more sources (up to 10) and polled URLs such as Watch a URL.
- 2
Add the agent as a destination
Click Add destination and enter the agent URL. Set the event types the agent handles, for example:
payment.failed, support.ticket.opened, billing.invoice.overdue
- 3
Let the agent act through tools
The agent can post its results back to a webhook source. Then action destinations do the writes, such as a CRM note or a Slack message, with the same retries and audit log.
Tips
- Use a JS transform (start it with // js) to shape a short prompt from the event.
- Check the X-Hooksnode-Signature header in your agent, so only Hooksnode can trigger it.
