Book Paystack payments in QuickBooks automatically
Each successful payment settles its open QuickBooks invoice. With no invoice, Hooksnode books a sales receipt.

Beta: tested against sample payloads, not yet verified on a live account. Recording a payment writes to your books, so try a test company first.
paystack → payment.received → quickbooks: record payment
The problem
Your customers pay through Paystack, but your accountant types each payment into QuickBooks by hand. Month-end takes days, and some payments never reach the books.
What you get
- Every successful payment is recorded in QuickBooks within seconds.
- Payments match open invoices by customer and reference.
- Failed bookings retry on their own, and you can see each attempt.
Steps
- 1
Connect QuickBooks Online
Open your workspace and go to Connections. Find QuickBooks Online and click Connect. Sign in with Intuit and pick the company. Hooksnode keeps the keys and tokens encrypted. Members can see that the connection exists, but not its secrets.
- 2
Add your payment gateway as a source
In your project, go to Sources, click Add source and pick A business tool. Choose one of Paystack, Flutterwave or Moniepoint (Monnify). Free covers one gateway. A Pro project adds more sources (up to 10). Copy the webhook URL that Hooksnode shows and paste it into the webhook settings of your gateway dashboard. Hooksnode checks the gateway signature on every request and refuses forged events.
- 3
Use the recipe
Go to Destinations and click Use a recipe. Pick "Paid, then booked in QuickBooks". Select your QuickBooks connection. You can enter the bank account id that QuickBooks deposits into. Click Add recipe.
- 4
Test with one payment
Make a small test payment. Open Events to see the payment.received event and the delivery to QuickBooks. In QuickBooks, the open invoice now shows the payment.
Tips
- The recipe only books payments with status succeeded. Failed attempts do not reach the books.
- Add the optional WhatsApp step to send the customer a receipt with an approved template.
- Flutterwave and Monnify use the same recipe. The event type is the same for all three gateways. Free covers one gateway. A Pro project adds more sources (up to 10).
